Tanzania has registered ten (10) entries under nine (9) categories in the World nominations 2016 for the World Travel Awards organized by the World Travel Awards that will take place on 2nd December 2016 at the Olhuveli Beach & Spa Resort in the Republic of Maldives. Under the Africa nominations 2016, thirty two (32) entries for Tanzania have been recorded under 17 categories.
The
winner of this competition will be decided by votes. Voting for the World and
Travel Technology nominations opens online on Friday, 23rd September
2016 and will end on Monday, 24th October 2016. The voters will be
travel professionals and consumers with a vote cast by qualifying travel
professionals carrying a weighting of two votes.

Tanzania’s
ten entries with their categories in brackets are: Tanzania (World’s Leading Safari
Destination 2016); Zanzibar-Tanzania (World’s Leading Dive Destination 2016); Zanzibar
- Tanzania (World Leading Island Destination); and Mt. Kilimanjaro-Tanzania
(World’s Leading tourist attraction).

This comes five months after Mount Kilimanjaro which is the highest mountain in Africa, and the
highest free-standing mountain in the world, being declared Africa’s leading
tourist attraction in 2016 during the World Travel Awards Africa and Indian
Ocean Gala Ceremony held in Zanziba Tanzania on 9th April 2016.
