Exim Bank
Tanzania has donated 50 desks worth TZS 5,000,000 to the District Commissioner
of Gairo, Honourable Mrs Siriel Shaidi Mchembe, as a means of improving the
education environment in Tanzania. The desks will be distributed to Kisitwi and
Chakware Primary Schools.
Speaking at a handover
ceremony in Gairo, the Exim Bank Tanzania Morogoro Branch Manager, Mr. Patrick
G. Njole, said Exim Bank provided the desks in support of the government’s
ongoing effort to deal with shortage of desks across the country. “Exim Bank
applauds the government for the effort made towards creating a conducive
learning environment. By supporting these schools in Morogoro, it is our hope
that this vision will extend towards regions outside major cities and into
rural areas,” he said.
Exim Bank has a long history
of investing in education facilities across the country. Mr. Njole pledged that
the bank will continue in this vein by supporting government efforts to improve
the education environment in Tanzania.
The District Commissioner for
Gairo, thanked Exim Bank for their valuable support as it
will help meet the challenges facing schools in the region. “The desks you have
donated will help to reduce the current shortage of desks in schools. We
encourage other stakeholders to follow the example of Exim Bank in reaching out
to regions that are still facing this problem,” he concluded.
