TANZANIAN FANS TREATED TO AN EXCLUSIVE NIGHT OF STARS DURING THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINALS

 
Thrilling match night for football fans across Tanzania as Heineken engaged patrons on the ‘#ChampionTheMatch’ consumer campaign
Dar es Salaam, June 4 2017 - Heineken Tanzania yester night engaged and excited throngs of Tanzanian football fans at the culmination of 2017 UEFA Champions League (UCL) final which saw REAL MADRID whoop JUVENTUS FOOTBALL CLUB by four goals to one (4-1), hence crowned 2017 UCL champions.
Cardiff, Wales was the home of another history making football moment, with the UEFA Champions League finals between Juventus and Real Madrid.
And, Tanzanian Football fans shared in the moment, at various outlets across the country, where Heineken once again presented the biggest viewing parties ever. The Heineken viewing parties, besides the main showpiece which is the UEFA Champions League Final, also featured chances to win awesome Heineken merchandize.
While the game officially kicked off at 9.45 pm, Heineken brought some thrills, fun and excitement to radio, TV presenters, print journalists, bloggers and celebrities from 6 pm and even after the final whistle – until midnight.
For this year’s Heineken UEFA Champions League exclusive viewing Party, which was open to select media personalities, ice cold Heineken was on special during the event as well as a few special surprises.
Heineken’s 2017 UEFA Champions League promotions hinging on Champion the match campaign also included thrilling bar promotions, which culminated on 3rd June 2017 at George & Dragon Pub, Samaki Samaki and other outlets spread across Tanzania. The premium brewer has reiterated that the campaign remains the base of their UEFA Champions league communication.
The campaign has achieved broader appeal of match nights before, during and after the game. In addition football fans enjoyed additional entertainment and got opportunities to win prizes in the different establishments that Heineken activated at.
In a statement released to news rooms, The Country Manager of Heineken Tanzania, Michael Mbungu noted that, ‘‘So far we have witnessed world class football performance in the Champions League games semi finals. We were very thrilled that Tanzanian soccer fans turned up in droves to bear witness to a battle of true champions. At Heineken we saw an opportunity to unite & encourage fans to champion the match whether watching the match from home or at the sports bar with their friends.’’ He further stated, ‘‘UEFA Champions league is watched by more than a billion people worldwide, whether Real Madrid is playing Barcelona or Juventus is playing against Monaco, every final match brings along its own surprises and excitement. Heineken has been successfully partnering with the UEFA Champions League since 2005’’   
The Dutch brewer is a keen sponsor of global sports tournaments and unlike other industry players steers clear from sponsoring specific teams.
